Purpose : Aqua-acupncture has been used since 1970´s in good earnest and the extent of applications has been expanded. But the preceding research for it´s safety has not been established enough. So I´m going to analyze 8 pieces of thesis which thought to have full experimental research for the safety of Aqua-acupuncture.
Method : I have analzed numerical value, items on safety test, significance and results in 8 pieces of safety estimation thesis which have been studied since 1993.
Result
1. In acute toxicity examination, Ephedra Herb killed some animals and gave rise to severe dermal necrosis on injected region in survived animal. And there were few special symptoms or pathologic anatomical expression observed in all the other drugs and experiment groups.
2. In immunological toxicity examination, Ephedra Herb, Red Ginseng and Corydalis Tuber gave rise to special IgE formation and Ephedra Herb, Aconiti Ciliare Tuber and Angelica Gigantis Radix caused blood corpuscle coagulation. And there were few special symptoms or pathologic anatomical expression observed in all the other drugs and experiment groups.
3. In local toxin examination, Ephedra Herb gave rise to bleeding, inflammation and myositis in subcutaneous and muscle. And there were few special symptoms or pathologic anatomical expression observed in all the other drugs and experiment groups.
4. In middle stage fever examination, there were few special expression in Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu and other experiment groups.
5. In fever examination, Ephedra Herb and Corydalis Tuber gave rise to fever symptom and there were few special symptoms or pathologic anatomical expression observed in all the other drugs and experiment groups except Ephedra Herb and Aconiti Ciliare Tuber.
6. In hemolytic examination, Red Gingseng, Aconiti Ciliare Tuber and Corydalis Tuber gave rise to hemolysis at high dose and medium dose. And there weree few special expressions observed in all the other drugs and experiment groups except. Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu, Angelica Gigantis Radix, Saliviae Miltiorrhizae Radix and Ephedra Herb.
7. Ingredient analysis were made by HPLC for Red Gingseng, Aconiti Ciliare Tuber, Ephedra Herb and Corydalis Tuber.
